Placements - Get, Set, Go !

The D Day is here ! The annual spectacle starts tomorrow at IIM A ! Probably the second biggest in it's history after 2000. This one is going to be one helluva ride !! The feeling is same as you have when you sit on a roller coaster waiting for the final kid or family to get in for the operator to close the handle and pull the plug ! Or Brazil versus France, or the India- Pakistan quarters.
Personally I am cut off from the thrill slightly cause I'm going in with downside protected (Thanks to a PPO) :)...May it go well for the whole batch !

N.B At last count more than 50% of IIMA guys shift from their first job in an average of 6 months. SO much for the spectacle !! But that is a different story hunh !! :))

da wat happens is due to the silly pressure of slots and c'ing u'r pals get thru.... ppl tend to pik up the 1st job that comes their way... later they repent in leisure... or in the case of iim grads hop jobs in a short span of time till they land up with a job that they like... something like a damped vibration... the initial excitement... then the realization and then jumping to the job of their choice...

i heard in the news that the highest overseas placement has broken all previous records... 82L+ per annum..?its amazing when u compare it with what i read in the newspaper yesterday that commerce and other technical grads in other parts of the country are doing manual labour under the governments food for work programme and still not getting paid.. the contrast makes me feel bad..

nitika - tht is the dollar salaries converted to indian rupees....equivalent indian salary wud be around 18 L per annum only....so the chasm is really not tht bad - i also think at 30% its always beneficial for country if larger no. of people get larger salaries - overall economy will be beneficially afffected....
