This article from the world policy journal here - some interesting thoughts on carbon market being a potential option to save our forests. Highly debated around, but I think this could potentially be a viable option to save our race and planet the way we know it. (Too capitalistic for most of my conservation friends, Im sure !!:))
Also a note on Avatar is worth noting in this context. I presume our race won't do to our rainforests what the "corporation" did with the indegenous people in Avatar. One way to satiate the corporate would be the "unobtanium" of carbon credits in lieu of destruction of endemics. Sad stage of progress for our civilisation !
